I first had dried squid, mực khô, years ago while traveling in Vietnam and loved the taste and texture so I was naturally interested in the concept of squid jerky.
Each of the three flavors are great, the seasonings complement the natural squid taste instead of covering it up and there isn’t that gross artificial aftertaste you can get in some other more common jerky types. If you’ve never tried squid jerky or you’re looking for something beyond the usual beef or turkey options, this is a standout choice!
I bought the set for me and my four housemates to try all the flavors since we all love squid jerky you can find at 99 ranch stores but don't like how it's not very sustainable. We liked the flavors but the main problem was all the flavors were way too intense to the point that all of us were done eating after one or two bites. S
We felt like we couldn't really taste the squid which is why we bought it. Sadly we were disappointed that this couldn't become our new house snack. Some even hurt our mouths with the amount of salt and overall very concentrated flavor. While it wasn't our cup of tea we very much respect this company and their philosophies or sustainability and openness to feedback hence the 4 stars. If you like strong flavors, go for it!
Unexpectedly delicious! The flavors are incredible (Thai chili lime was our favorite). The texture is not really like anything I’ve had before, but the between me and my husband we couldn’t stop eating it. Definitely picking up more of this for ski season, when we usually eat a lot of beef jerky.
I don't wanna be right.
I've ordered this product multiple times, b/c I don't just like it, I love it. My favorite is all of them. I always order all 3 and eat all of them rapidly. The stuff is good, IMO.
