probably not for everyone, but i really liked these. definitely a bit of seafood aroma, and the texture was on the softer side, but the nutrition is amazing and it's zero sugar (i can't eat sugar). always on the lookout for new protein snacks that aren't ultra-processed junk like protein bars, so this was a great find (thanks reddit lol).
Deliciously unexpected. Found this from a reddit post the founder did about the jerky business, so I knew they were doing the hard work. Wasn't expecting it to be so flavorful. Really like their mission, if you haven't read about it, they're using wild-caught squid from california and not using any artificial ingredients, sugar, or added nitrates (like most jerky). definitely will be re-ordering, wish they had a subscription option?

WOW! So I am a fan of jerky and biltong in general - I enjoy it & use it as a snack to help me hit my protein goals. Many jerkys can be too dry and tough in my opinion, even biltong, with a softer, thinner texture than jerky, can be really dry and unenjoyable. I also hadn't found a fish jerky that I've really enjoyed before. Along comes the Hermit calamari jerky with such a unique chewy texture and really great flavors. Instant permanent addition to my snack drawer. It's got a little fishy umami to it but really isnt over the top fishy to me. The Ginger Scallion I'd say is the fishiest flavor since it does have fish sauce added, followed by Thai Chili (which is pleasantly spicy but not too spicy), and then Italian herb. Italian herb is a good starter flavor for those who are concerned about a fishy taste/odor since there is almost none. Great flavors all-around - can't wait for them to add more flavors! Great product!!!
